The NPDD is an easily  reloadable replacement for conventional Flash/Bang diversionary devices, but it has several distinct advantages.
 

• It produces no heat for a full elimination of potential fire hazards.

• It can dispense a large payload of PAVA irritant powder to immediately provide a large 7m radius exclusion zone .

• It is not a destructive device or a firearm, so it requires none of the same ATF permitting, handling or licensing.
